Now that Gato has quit soccer, the main and only thing to do in his village he is left with a lot of free time. In his village you can not go into the jungle to chop down trees if you are a kid therefore Gato will have to find something to keep him busy. For him things have always been below him, not only because he is very tall but for other reasons too. When he is in class he always is looking down at the paper or the pencil. The most common insendent of him looking down is when he plays soccer.
He's said quite a few times that he isn't the best at soccer. If you aren't good at soccer you most likely have trouble controlling the ball, therefore you will spend a lot of time looking at your feet instead of the field. Now that he is done with soccer he is trying to find ways to entertain himself, one of which is going into the jungle. He doesn't go into the jungle to chop down trees, instead he goes simply to explore the wild. I don't know what he will find which is why I'm so interested to see what happens these next few chapters.
